I sent a few pics over to BobC today, to let him know that some of the wood he sends me doesn't just end up as sawdust....thought I might as well post them here too! This one is an SJC model in cocobolo with curly eucalyptus binding and an Italian spruce top. The rosette is green ab, and the soundhole is bound in ebony.

Russ, that's a very beautiful instrument. The level of craftsmanship is impeccable. I just can't believe what I see on this forum almost every day. It's humbling. I want to know more about how it's braced, how it sounds, and what your method of voicing/tuning is. Other than its obvious beauty, what's your goal/reason for the asymetric bridge? Craig |

Really cool guitar, Russ. I love the shape. I wanna play that baby. I got some of that curly eucalyptus binding from Bob, too. I haven't used it yet - it's nice to see it on a guitar. Great stuff. |

Since a few people are asking about this, I will clarify a bit as to how this goes together. The bridge itself is in ebony, and the shape is something I modeled in 3-D software. It took a bit of tweaking to get this to fit in an average sized bridge blank! 
As John Mayes pointed out, I am smart/lazy enough to have John W. CNC machine the bridges for me, and he does an excellent job! The bridge design is fundamentally based on the pinless bridge of Steve Klein. The shape is a more "organic" development of the Klein shape, and is quite similar (I found out afterward...great minds think alike...  ) to the bridge shape used by Michael Bashkin on his fine guitars.
The strings are held via 2mm stainless steel pins, which the ball ends of the strings fit over. The strings then pass under 5-40 caphead screws before passing over the saddle. These screws allow a tiny bit of adjustment in the break angle over the saddle, and serve as string guides as well. As far as the body shape...this is a result of looking to build something a bit "different". It evolved by playing with shapes (specifically making the lower bout rounder than normal). The cutaway is a bit of a mutation of the Macaferri cutaway. I am currently building a similar guitar, only with a Florentine cutaway. That should just about cover it! Red/Arnt, The bracing of the top is basically "normal" (x-brace, fingerbraces, etc.)and not at all like the Klein/Kasha bracing. On the back, I used a double X-brace as seen below:
